Laser Rejuvenation

Laser rejuvenation is a popular and highly effective aesthetic treatment that we offer here at CAID. If you are considering laser rejuvenation, here is some essential information that you will need before making an appointment.

Laser rejuvenation, sometimes known as laser resurfacing, is the latest in aesthetic facial treatment. A laser is used to remove the top layers of skin on the face, promoting collagen production and helping healthy, new skin to grow.

Laser rejuvenation is used to treat a wide variety of common skin complaints, including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sagging skin
  • Sun damage
  • Scarring, such as from acne
  • Uneven pigmentation

There are two types of laser rejuvenation available: ablative and non-ablative. Non-ablative laser rejuvenation is gentler to your skin, but the results are usually not as pronounced, so it is not suitable for all skin conditions. When you consult with a specialist, they will advise you which type of laser resurfacing is more appropriate for you.

This depends entirely on the condition of your skin and the results you want to achieve. The treatment can take anywhere between 30 minutes and two hours, depending on the areas you are treating. While your skin will initially be red and swollen, you should still be able to see results pretty instantly. These results

can continue to improve for up to a year following your treatment. Depending on your individual circumstances, you might need more than one session to achieve the effects you’re looking for. Your specialist will advise you on this at your consultation.

Laser Rejuvenation

When you choose laser rejuvenation at CAID, you are in safe hands, as we are highly trained and experienced professionals. However, it is important to understand what to expect during and after your treatment. You may be given either a local or general anaesthetic depending on the scale of your treatment. When the anaesthetic wears off, your skin may feel sore, and it will look red and swollen. This redness and swelling should start to heal after about a week. However, in some patients, it can last a lot longer than this.

If the redness or pain goes on for longer than a week to ten days, or you have any other concerns or complications following the procedure, you should contact the clinic straight away.

This differs from patient to patient. While you might need more than one session, in some cases, the results can be permanent, such as improving the appearance of scars. However, if you are having laser rejuvenation to fight the signs of ageing, you should be aware that your face will continue to age, as that’s nature. This means you might need further treatments in future years.
