Zygomaticus are long implants that are inserted from the inside of the palate through the sinus into the underside of the cheekbones to support a complete set of replacement teeth.
These implants are especially designed for bony deficient upper jaws. We offer this treatment to patients who are not suitable for standard implant procedures and who are also not suitable for bone grafting.
Zygomaticus Implants offer the advantage of being able to fit immediate teeth where there is very little jaw bone remaining. This treatment, however, has increased surgical risks and the results may often be compromised when compared to treatment that involves grafting (such as All On 4 Plus), in terms of strength & durability, ability to clean, comfort and aesthetics. As such, we offer this as a last resort treatment when the benefits outweigh the risks.
The procedure is performed under general anaesthetic together with an appropriate and specially trained maxillofacial surgeon.
